While most of the time people playing slot machines settle for regular-sized wins (if they win at all), sometimes they end up getting their hands on life-changing money.

An anonymous player at the Excalibur Casino Resort in Las Vegas hit a jackpot worth almost $12.2m while playing the Megabucks Spitfire Multipliers Triple Red Hot 7s slot machine. IGT, the developer of the game, announced the big win on X (formerly Twitter):

This was the fourth time in 2023 that someone captured the Megabucks jackpot in the state of Nevada and it’s the second largest of these wins. One lucky gambler captured a $14m jackpot win from a $10 wager in April at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno.

The Excalibur is also no stranger to big wins as it was the site of the largest ever slot jackpot victory in 2003, with the player claiming $39.7m on a Megabucks machine.
