外媒发现Instagram的官网支持页面日前作出了更新，公布与Facebook Messenger的消息互通功能将会在12月中终止，双方用户无法再跨平台发送消息或进行语音通话。Meta未有解释终止跨平台通信的原因，有外国媒体估计与欧盟《数码市场法》实施有关。
Facebook Messenger能够与Instagram消息互通始于2020年，当时还未易名Meta的Facebook期望将Messenger的通信体验带到Instagram，进一步扩大两个平台的使用人数和投入度，于是让两个平台的账号可以互相发送消息和进行语音通话。跨平台消息互通在今年12月中终结后，现有对话和通信会变成只读模式，双方也自然无法开始新通信。
原来Facebook账号能够查看Instagram账号动态和消息阅读状态的安排，将会在本月中终止，跨平台通信内容不会被转移到Facebook Inbox或Messenger，相信上述安排也是为了符合欧盟《数码市场法》的用户隐私保护要求而作出。
