Epic 大戰 Google 判決出爐！陪審團認定 Google 壟斷

陪審團認定 Google 的「Project Hug」計畫（用數億美元經費把頂級開發者留在 Google Play 上架）、說 OEM 廠拒絕第三方 App 商店等作為都是維持市場壟斷的手段。
跟蘋果判決截然不同，Epic 另一場跟 Google 之間反壟斷官司在糾纏三年後，美國陪審團最後一致認為 Google Play 搭配 Google Play Billing 支付服務確實擁有市場壟斷能力！
陪審團認定 Google 的「Project Hug」計畫（用數億美元經費把頂級開發者留在 Google Play 上架）、說 OEM 廠拒絕第三方 App 商店等作為都是維持市場壟斷的手段。Project Hug 可說是 Epic 提告的一大重點，根據外界報導，Google 曾付給動視暴雪支付 3.6 億美元，讓他們放棄自己建一個 Google Play 競品的計畫。
Epic 表示在《要塞英雄》發布「Mega Drop」更新可以繞過 Google 付費後，Google 就制定了 Project Hug 計畫吸引像任天堂、育碧和 Riot Games 等開發商加入，損害了 Epic 的權益。
雖然陪審團已初步認定 Google 壟斷，但本案件尚未完全結束，法官 James Donato 尚未宣布 Google 賠償 Epic 的任何細節，也還沒表示 Google 需要做出哪些改變。但 Epic 在部落格已經發文表示，這項判決「對所有開發者來說都是一場勝利」。先前 Epic 表示如果勝訴，將要求「自由」使用自己的付費系統，並要求其他開發者享有同樣的權利。
不過在 2021 相似的官司中，蘋果並沒有判為具備壟斷地位。Google 表示將會繼續上訴。
