SOFTSWISS Accelerates South African Expansion with Turfsport Acquisition

Share

A well-known tech business called SOFTSWISS has made a daring attempt to increase its power in the iGaming industry by buying the majority of Turfsport, a well-known supplier of multichannel gambling software in South Africa. This purchase represents a substantial step into the booming South African and African markets, in line with SOFTSWISS’ worldwide development plan.

Turfsport has a long history dating back more than 35 years, and throughout that time it has been a mainstay in South Africa’s fully managed end-to-end solutions for retail, mobile, and internet operators. Turfsport, which now serves more than 40 operators, offers sports betting, lotteries, and horse racing. It is noteworthy that the number of bets placed annually exceeds 1.5 billion.

“One of the fastest and most efficient ways to enter a new market is to acquire a successful local company,” says Andrey Starovoitov, Co-CEO of SOFTSWISS, with enthusiasm. Starovoitov thinks that, similar to Latin America’s success, Africa—and especially South Africa—is becoming a major hub for the iGaming industry worldwide.

The alliance offers access to thirty years of technological know-how in addition to market development. Starovoitov points out, “We not only gain market presence but also access technologies developed over the last 35 years by world-class specialists.” Turfsport CEO Christian Neuberger agrees, highlighting the partnership’s potential to provide cutting-edge service and product improvements.

Neuberger continues, “Turfsport was looking for an international partner that would complement our strong brand in South Africa.” The collaboration aims to provide a competitive edge by combining Turfsport’s local expertise with SOFTSWISS’ international prowess.

In addition to broadening the market, the strategic objective of the Turfsport purchase is to enhance SOFTSWISS’ product line by customizing its offers to suit local tastes. By utilizing Turfsport’s outstanding standing in the African market, SOFTSWISS aims to strengthen its local presence and get a solid footing in the ever-changing iGaming scene in South Africa.

The SOFTSWISS team is excited to share their knowledge of the South African market at ICE London 2024, Stand N8-231, as the acquisition progresses, demonstrating their dedication to influencing the direction of the iGaming industry.
