Flutter Entertainment Completes Majority Acquisition of MaxBet

Share

The well-known Serbian gambling operator MaxBet was successfully acquired by gaming behemoth Flutter Entertainment in a deliberate attempt to bolster its position in Eastern Europe. Announced in September 2023, the €141 million purchase gives Flutter a 51% share in MaxBet, creating additional opportunities for international growth.

With the closing of the MaxBet purchase, Flutter Entertainment has taken a big step toward its goal of becoming the world’s leading provider of gaming, entertainment, and sports betting. With this action, Flutter is able to take advantage of MaxBet’s robust presence in the Balkans, notably in nations like Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.

Describing the acquisition on LinkedIn as the beginning of a “new era of excitement,” Flutter expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with MaxBet, hailing the Serbian operator as a “beloved gaming brand” in the region. This strategic move aligns with Flutter’s goal of enhancing its portfolio and market presence in key regions.

Daniel Taylor’s Optimistic Perspective

Daniel Taylor, the CEO of Flutter Entertainment, expressed excitement over the recently confirmed agreement with MaxBet. Taylor highlighted the two entities’ synergy, pointing out that MaxBet is a great partner for Flutter because of its passionate fan base and committed workforce.

“MaxBet is a household name in the Balkans, and we’re incredibly proud to have them join our team. Their strong retail footprint, loyal customer base, and passionate team make them an ideal partner for our expansion plans in the region,” commented Daniel Taylor.

It is anticipated that the partnership between Flutter and MaxBet would improve the overall gaming experience. The firms want to elevate the gaming and entertainment experience by fusing Flutter’s cutting-edge goods and technology with MaxBet’s local market knowledge.

“The coming together of Flutter and MaxBet will enable the companies to take the player experience to new heights,” affirmed Flutter Entertainment.
