曇花一現? Meta 台灣元宇宙 XR 中心已吹熄燈號

Facebook（臉書）母公司 Meta 與資策會於 2022 年 5 月共同宣布，在台灣啟用亞洲首座元宇宙 XR Hub Taiwan 社群空間，提供新創團隊及藝術家展演數位作品，不料去年底已悄悄卸下招牌，成立不到 2 年就收攤。

資策會向中央社記者僅證實，Meta 元宇宙 XR Hub 已於 2023 年底結束營運，但未說明詳細原因。記者向 Meta 查證此事，至發稿為止尚未取得回覆。

記者實際走訪位於捷運圓山站附近的元宇宙 XR Hub Taiwan，原本掛在外牆上的招牌已不復見，僅在電梯旁的樓層指引還可以看到 2 樓相關字樣。

業界人士指出，元宇宙 XR Hub Taiwan已完成階段性任務，Meta 在台灣也有透過其他形式推廣 XR（延展實境），例如去年 5 月與政治大學傳播學院成立 XR 中心實驗室，推動 XR 科技相關研究與課程發展。

Meta 元宇宙 XR Hub Taiwan 在 2022 年 5 月開幕時聲勢浩大，原訂目標是從元宇宙 XR Hub Taiwan 開始，Meta 將在台灣開展一系列計畫，聚焦文化藝術、經濟商業、社會公益等 3 大領域，加速整體產業的人才培育、內容發展與科技創新。

例如在虛擬實境體驗區，透過 Meta 虛擬實境頭戴裝置，可以從神像視角了解 80 年代台灣社會氛圍對於信仰價值觀上的變化。另外在藝術展區內，可透過擴增實境（AR）特效，探索排灣族婚禮服飾，或在所處環境生成排灣族歌手的 3D 虛擬替身演唱傳統歌曲。
