AST的競爭者SpaceX也正在積極部署衛星直連手機的Starlink Direct to Cell連網服務。SpaceX本月稍早宣布已成功測試手機文字訊息收發，計畫今年內推出文字訊息，並在明年推出衛星語音、數據服務。現階段SpaceX將與T-Mobile展開Direct to Cell服務。
