正如一些 Earth View 系列粉絲注意到的那樣，Google 已經在本（1）月稍早將 Earth View 網站下線，編輯實測，目前如果連上該網址，網頁會出現 404 錯誤。
Google 相當受到歡迎的 Earth View 系列桌布網站在無預警情況下被 Google 關閉。
Earth View 系列桌布是由衛星捕捉到的地球圖像，像是 Chromecast 這樣的裝置，在閒置時通常用戶都會看到這些精美且令人驚嘆的地球影像，這些照片也可以透過 Android 裝置上的 Google 桌布 App 獲得，有一些粉絲更會上 Earth View 網站來瀏覽整個系列，使用者也可以輕鬆地下載這些圖像，並且還有一個專門的 Chrome 應用程式，可以用這些美麗的照片來取代預設新分頁的圖片。
不過，正如一些 Earth View 系列粉絲注意到的那樣，Google 已經在本（1）月稍早將 Earth View 網站下線，編輯實測，目前如果連上該網址，網頁會出現 404 錯誤。
至於原本的 Chrome 擴充功能本身仍可下載，不過在 Chrome 擴充功能列上的 Earth View 圖示變成黑白的，且現在只能選擇隨機的圖像和顯示最近歷史紀錄的圖像。
