Trading Pause Requested by Star Entertainment on ASX

Share

Star Entertainment Group has applied for a temporary halt on the trading of its ordinary shares on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), citing an immediate need. The request comes in the wake of a notification received on 19 February from the New South Wales (NSW) Independent Casino Commission. This notice pertains to the initiation of an inquiry under the NSW Casino Control Act 1992, the specifics of which Star Entertainment has not divulged.

The casino operator has expressed a desire for the trading halt to remain effective until it can provide additional information regarding the inquiry or until 21 February, whichever occurs first. Star Entertainment anticipates that the ASX will approve its request for a trading halt.
