Nevada, reported a rise in gambling revenue for February, reaching $1.34 billion, the figure represents an 8.5% year-on-year increase, driven primarily by the growth within the baccarat segment.

Slots machines accounted for the highest revenue, generating $827.6 million for the month. Although this figure shows a modest increase of 0.6% compared to the previous year, it is a testament to the enduring popularity of slot games. The revenue breakdown reveals that $536.6 million came from multi-denomination slot games, while $207.6 million was generated by penny slot machines.

It is worth noting that only multi-denomination slot games reported growth in February. Revenue for all other game types within this segment experienced a slight decline. Nevertheless, the overall performance of slots was still strong, contributing significantly to the state’s overall gambling revenue.

The standout performer in February was undoubtedly the baccarat segment. It experienced a staggering 75.5% increase in revenue, reaching an impressive $180.1 million. This surge can be attributed to the popularity of baccarat among high rollers who frequent the luxurious casinos of Nevada. The game’s simple yet elegant gameplay combined with high stakes has made it a favourite among the elite.

Another notable growth area within table games was blackjack, which saw a 15.6% increase in revenue, reaching $132.5 million. Craps also performed exceptionally well, with a revenue increase of 22.0% to $44.7 million. Ultimately Texas Hold’em and Pai Gow Poker also experienced growth, with revenue rising by 4.4% to $18.0 million and 4.7% to $10.4 million, respectively.

In addition to the impressive performance of traditional casino games, February also benefitted from the Super Bowl, the highly anticipated NFL end-of-season showpiece. This year, the Allegiant Stadium in Nevada played host to the event, where the Kansas City Chiefs emerged as the victorious team against the San Francisco 49ers. The excitement surrounding the Super Bowl contributed to a 16.0% rise in sports pool revenue, reaching $47.9 million.

Interestingly, while American football only accounted for $12.0 million of the sports pool revenue, basketball claimed the lion’s share, generating $24.7 million. Hockey betting contributed $4.3 million, while other sports accounted for $7.7 million. Baseball betting, however, resulted in a loss of $929,000. It is worth noting that $23.8 million of the total sports pool revenue came from mobile wagering, highlighting the increasing popularity of online betting platforms.

When it comes to revenue, the Las Vegas Strip always plays a significant role. In February, it did not disappoint, amassing a total revenue of $800.7 million, representing a notable 12.4% increase compared to the previous year. While slots revenue experienced a slight decline of 2.4% to $381.0 million, multi-denomination slots were the exception, reporting growth as all other game types experienced revenue decline.

Table, counter, and card games were the showstoppers on the Las Vegas Strip, with revenue climbing an impressive 30.3% to $419.7 million. The standout performances within this segment were baccarat, which experienced an 81.9% increase in revenue to $180.5 million, and blackjack, which saw a 20.8% surge to $107.8 million. Sports pool revenue also contributed to the success of the Las Vegas Strip, with a 9.9% increase to $24.7 million.
