Booming Games obtains Romanian B2B licence

Booming Games has obtained a Romanian B2B licence from the Oficiul National Pentru Jocuri De Noroc (ONJN). The licence is part of the iGaming provider’s plans for expansion in Europe.

The licence will allow players in Romania access to a range of games from the Booming Games portfolio, including Burning Classics, Gold Gold Gold, TNT Bonanza, Cash Pig and Buffalo Hold and Win among others.

Romania has become a hotspot for many companies within the gaming market looking to expand and develop their reach in Europe. Others to receive a Romanian licence from the ONJN in the last four weeks include 3 Oaks Gaming, while providers such as BGaming and Wazdan have expanded their reach in the nation through partnerships with Superbet and Totogaming respectively.

We explored the rapid expansion of Romania’s iGaming market in a previous issue of Trafficology, where regulatory and intellectual property lawyer Anna-Maria Baciu explained: “The interest in Romanian Class 2 licences has been constant along the years. Holding them offers the obvious compliance and market access associated benefits, but also might respond to other business-related perspectives, as among others, it provides ground for recognition notices.”

She also noted that, despite changes to legislation in October last year, “we continue to see interest from foreign companies in obtaining Romanian licences, proof of the market’s stability.”

We also visited EveryMatrix’s new headquarters in Bucharest, Romania in March. You can read more about this in our coming issue of Gambling Insider.

On obtaining the licence, Booming Games CCO Frederik Niehusen said: “We're thrilled to announce that we've obtained a full Romanian B2B gaming license. This exciting development allows us to expand our presence in the rapidly growing Romanian market. With this achievement, we're well-equipped to build on our strengths and enhance our product offerings to better serve the needs of our customers.”
