即將部署至付費版ChatGPT的gpt-4-turbo-2024-04-09，OpenAI強調在研究生等級的問答或是數學競賽等基準測試中，都比先前gpt-4-turbo預覽版有明顯進步
此外，基於gpt-4-turbo-2024-04-09的ChatGPT可提供更直接、簡潔，也更口語化的回應。
OpenAI透過GitHub揭露了gpt-4-turbo-2024-04-09與其它模型的比較，顯示它不管是在DROP、MATH或HumanEval等基準測試上都贏過Claude 3 Opus及Gemini 1.0 Ultra，但Claude 3 Opus在GPQA、MGSM及MMLU上的表現則勝過gpt-4-turbo-2024-04-09。
有趣的是，雖然OpenAI現有的免費版ChatGPT僅支援GPT-3.5或GPT-4，但同樣以GPT作為AI服務底層架構的微軟，已於免費的Copilot服務中採用GPT-4 Turbo。
