AKG 的一份报告显示，1 月至 9 月记录了 15 起与 POGO 相关的绑架案件。与 2021 年同期记录的 12 起案件相比，这一数字更高。
PNP发言人让法哈多上校指出，其中八起案件已解决，七起仍在调查中。绑架案涉及18名中国内地人、1名中国台湾人及1名越南人。
她没有说所有外国人是否都是受害者。她也不否认一些被绑架的 POGO 工人没有向当局报告的可能性。
但如果要将传统绑架勒索以及与赌场有关的绑架案件包括在内，她表示，与去年相比，这一数字要低。
恢复和平与秩序运动 (MRPO)早前曾表示，与网络博彩相关的绑架案件正在上升。
PNP 数据显示，1 月至 9 月共有 27起绑架案件，其中 15 起与 POGO 相关，11 起与 KFR有关，1 起与赌场有关。
而去年共登记了 36 起绑架案。
