微軟開源MS-DOS 4.00程式碼

微軟將1980年代的MS-DOS v.400程式碼公開於GitHub平臺，供學術或技術研究使用

不過《Ars Technica》形容MS-DOS 4.00是一個有些缺憾的開發成果，理由之一是MS-DOS並不支援多工；今天市場PC已不復見的OS/2已經具備多工能力，但微軟卻從未為MS-DOS加入多工支援。此外，MS-DOS較占記憶體。《Ars Technica》指出，4.00版RAM耗用記憶體92KB。從今天來看似乎不算什麼，但在記憶體昂貴的當年，這點頗令人介意。相較之下，IBM的PC DOS 2000僅耗用RAM 64KB。
MS-DOS 4.00外，微軟參與開發的早期OS/2版本OS/2 2.0，也在今年3月被科技愛好者上傳到網路上。
