很难想象在这个讲求效率的时代，Google Play Store一直需要一个Android程序下载和安装完成，才会开始另一个程序，不过这个情况将会改变。网站9to5Google发现，Google Play Store现已支持在Android手机同时下载和安装两个应用程序，减少用户的等候时间。
上述新功能已经陆续在使用Android 14系统，而Play Store版本为40.6.31或以上的Pixel手机和平板提供，有外国媒体测试后发现，部分较旧的设备，包括Samsung Galaxy S22都能够支持。当用户同时选择两个大型程序如Google Docs或OfficeSuite进行下载和安装，可以见到不用再等待其中一个完成后才开始另一个。
比较可惜的是，Google Play Store只能够同时处理两个应用程序，超过的话，其他的程序会显示为“等待中”。至于未来Google会否进一步放宽限制，允许用户同时下载和安装3款或更多程序则有待观察；不过用户可能希望类似功能先在程序更新时出现，因为现在为现有程序更新仍然只能逐个执行。
