ESPN BET Named Official Betting Sponsor Of PGA Championship
The PGA of America and PENN Entertainment announced a partnership Tuesday that makes ESPN BET the official sports betting sponsor of the PGA Championship through 2026. The PGA Championship is the first of golf’s four major championships to have an official sports betting sponsor.
There will be on-site ESPN BET activations at the 2024 PGA Championship, which takes place next week in Louisville, Kentucky. ESPN BET is one of numerous sports betting apps available in Kentucky’s sports betting market.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with PENN Entertainment and immerse ESPN BET into the spectator experience throughout the PGA Championship,” Jeff Price, the PGA of America’s chief commercial officer said in a press release. “The added onsite presence of ESPN BET as well as broadcast and content offerings will provide spectators with exciting new ways to enjoy and engage with all of the action during the PGA Championship.”
Among the ESPN BET activations is an ESPN BET “Members Lounge” that will be located near the green of the 13th hole. It’s a “premium hospitality space” that includes a virtual reality simulator of the hole, and the space will only be available for customers with ESPN BET accounts.
ESPN BET odds and analysis will also be featured on ESPN’s coverage of the tournament. All four rounds of the tournament will air on ESPN in some capacity, with additional streaming coverage throughout the week on ESPN+. CBS handles broadcasting duties for the final portion of the third and fourth rounds.
“We’re pleased to be the PGA of America’s first ever gaming partner and align ESPN BET with this prestigious men’s golf major,” Jason Birney, vice president of operations for PENN Interactive, said in a press release. “We look forward to accessing highly engaging touch points to bring ESPN BET onto the course and into the PGA Championship broadcast on ESPN.”
Scottie Scheffler, the 2024 Masters Champion, is the current betting favorite entering the tournament, holding odds of +350 on ESPN BET. No other golfer has odds shorter than Rory McIlroy at +1100.
The 2025 PGA Championship will be played in North Carolina, while the 2026 tournament takes place in Pennsylvania. ESPN BET is live in both states.
