With Manchester City expectedly romping home to victory against West Ham United on Sunday to win a fourth consecutive English Premier League (EPL) title, it wasn’t a good day for bet365.

The sportsbook operator revealed that the conclusion to the season was “shockingly bad” as every favorite across the ten games won. A parlay combining each of these teams paid out at 103-1 and bet365 was also running a promotion that boosted winnings of tenfolds by 35%.

bet365 PR man Steve Freeth said that it was the biggest payout of the 2023-2024 season. He mentioned that things were briefly looking a bit more optimistic when Kai Havertz’s 89th-minute strike for Arsenal went to a VAR check before the officials upheld the winner.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom for the sportsbook this past weekend as the heavily backed Tyson Fury lost his title fight with Oleksandr Usyk. This meant that bet365 effectively cancelled out the following day’s heavy EPL losses.

Looking ahead to next season already, the operator has Manchester City as odds-on favorites to claim yet another title, with Arsenal expected to once more be the closest challenger.
