Spotify將在年底終結首個硬體設備Car Thing

針對2022年推出不久便停產的車上串流裝置Car Thing，Spotify決定讓這款硬體設備的生命週期在今年底告終
Spotify本周宣布，該公司在2021年發表的車上串流裝置Car Thing將在今年12月9日停止運作。
Car Thing為Spotify的首款硬體產品，允許用戶連至手機時透過語音及車上喇叭系統來控制Spotify，它配備一個4吋的觸控螢幕，更容易選擇曲目，不過，它僅支援Spotify Premium付費用戶，也沒有太多獨特的功能，使得許多人將它稱為Spotify的搖控器。
Spotify在2021年10月開始小規模測試Car Thing，2022年2月正式對外銷售，售價為90美元，但該公司在同年7月便宣布停產Car Thing，之後還曾將其降價至50美元。
而根據Spotify本周的更新，Car Thing裝置自今年12月9日之後將無法再運作，目前並無計畫推出Car Thing的新版本或替代產品，建議用戶將它重置為出廠預設值，以將它回收。
事實上，要在車上聆聽Spotify有許多方法，通常是直接將手機與車上娛樂系統連結即可，包括Spotify Connect、藍牙、AUX或USB傳輸線，或者是Android Auto與Apple CarPlay，而且現在有許多汽車的娛樂系統直接內建了Spotify。
不過，Spotify沒有任何退款計畫，要求用戶直接把Car Thing拿去回收的態度還是惹毛了一些人，也有人開始號召，要求Spotify將Car Thing開源。
