Las Vegas Sands Chairman and CEO Rob Goldstein believes that smart gaming tables are the future of the land-based gambling industry. Speaking at a conference on Wednesday, Goldstein said that his company is completely invested in rolling out this technology in its Singapore and Macau properties.

While dealers will still manage smart tables, they won’t need to quickly add up complex payouts in their heads anymore.

the casinos can track every move patrons make on the gaming floor

Goldstein believes that smart gaming tables allow casinos to better police games and to make everything more efficient. Marketing efforts will also improve as the casinos can track every move patrons make on the gaming floor, which isn’t easy to do with the traditional table game format.

Goldstein thinks these tables will provide a better gambling experience and fewer complaints from players who believe that the dealers got things wrong or cheated.

Each of Macau’s six casino license holders is either in the process of releasing smart tables on their gaming floors or already has them up and running. MGM Resorts International is the frontrunner so far, becoming the first casino in the world’s biggest gambling hub to roll out the technology.
