Twitch has cracked down hard on gambling-related content over the past couple of years. The latest restriction: people are only able to view gambling streams if they log into their accounts.

The only other categories that have the same feature are those that have sexual themes. One advantage of the policy is that it helps prevent underage people from viewing this content. This latest move comes as part of a wider raft of changes related to the types of content people see when they visit the streaming platform.

can now go into their preferences and block certain categories

Accountholders can now go into their preferences and block certain categories, including gambling. This means they won’t see these types of streams in their recommendations, when using the search tool, or browsing the platform.

Twitch has gradually moved away from having a heavy gambling focus since it blocked anyone streaming content from unregulated online casinos, including Stake and Rollbit. This led to an exodus of streamers to new rival platform Kick, which the founders of Stake created.
