Detroit casino revenue up to $111.3 million in May

The Michigan Gaming Control Board reported $111.3 million in adjusted gross casino revenue for May, a sizable increase from last year as all three Detroit casinos posted year-over-year gains.

May’s figure was 6.3% higher than last year and 4.7% higher than the $107.9 million generated in April. The gains made nearly flattened the year-over-year revenue totals, with the $540.1 million in AGR for 2024 down less than one-tenth of a percent compared to the first five months of 2023.

The state collected $9 million in taxes from the three casinos, and the $43.8 million is within $30,000 of last year’s total through five months. The city of Detroit saw an inflow of $13.2 million into its coff
