Colombia strengthens gambling’s public health funding policies
Colombia’s National Council of Games of Luck and Chance (Coljuegos) and the country’s National Superintendence of Health have entered into an agreement to further protect players from gambling harm.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the government departments “strengthens the surveillance of the operation of the territorial games”. It will also set up an improved collaboration for the exchange of information and technical knowledge, tools for the surveillance and control of the lottery, as well as tighter control for providers of Raspa&Listo games.
Also envisioned in the MoU is the relaxation of transfer rules between the two entities, which in turn would allow for the increase of funding for scientific research and public health initiatives.
