Ukraine’s national bank bans gambling on credit

Starting from 22 June 2024, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) will introduce a ban on the use of credit funds for gambling.

“Starting from 22 June 2024, the National Bank of Ukraine introduces a ban on customer payments to the accounts of gambling organisers for participation in gambling using funds received on credit terms,” the statement said.

The National Bank believes that the measure will minimise risks to the security and stability of the financial system, reduce the negative effects of online gambling, and help protect consumer rights and develop responsible consumer lending.

These changes were introduced by Resolution of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine.
