$333 million New York weekly handle is lightest since last summer
The New York State Gaming Commission reported $38.2 million in mobile sports betting revenue for the week ending June 23 as FanDuel continued to run roughshod on Empire State bettors.
Revenue was up 18.7% from the previous week as the nine sports betting apps combined to craft an 11.5% hold against $333.1 million worth of wagers. That was the lightest handle since $312.8 million was wagered for the week ending Sept. 3 — the week before the start of the 2023 NFL season.
Handle was also down 8.2% compared to last week, but it was also enough to send the all-time running mobile total above $46 billion though 129 weeks. All nine operators finished with positive revenue for the week, leading to an estimated $19.5 million in state taxes.
