New York sports betting revenue surges again

Despite a lower-than-usual 9.1 percent hold, the online sports betting win in New York State leapt 29 percent in June. The Empire State’s sports book handled $1.4 billion in bets and earned revenue of $133.9 million, of which 51 percent goes to the state in taxes.

FanDuel led in both handle of $577 million (a 37 percent increase) and revenue of $67.1 million, the latter a 42 percent surge. It held 11.7 percent.

DraftKings’s handle, $522 million, increased seven percent and its $40.9 million in revenue was up 10 percent, a hold of 7.8 percent.

Caesars Sportsbook was third in both handle ($128 million) and win ($8.6 million). It grew handle by two percent, but was flat in revenue, holding at 6.7 percent.

BetMGM held slightly better (6.8 percent), but booked a three percent decline in winnings, to $6.8 million. Its handle was $101 million, up 34 percent.

Despite a 329 percent increase in handle, Fanatics was edged by BetRivers, $69 million to $67 million. Fanatics, however, held much more tightly than BetRivers, winning $19.3 million to BetRivers’ $9.4 million.

Relatively minuscule amounts of handle went to BallyBet ($7 million), Resorts World Bet ($7 million), and WynnBet ($2 million). Their winnings were $1.8 million, $1.8 million, and $200,000 respectively.
