The Maryland State Lottery & Gaming Control Agency has released June’s casino revenue data showing the state’s casinos generated $162.9 million in revenue, down 0.5 percent from the $163.7 million reported in June of last year.

MGM National Harbor had the most, with $68.2 million in revenue, but still down 1.3 percent year-on-year. Live Casino & Hotel was one of two casinos to report a year-on-year increase, with $60.4 million in revenue, up 4.2 percent from June 2023.

Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore reported the largest revenue drop of 11.5 percent compared to last year and finished third with $14.1 million, while Ocean Downs was fourth with $8.1 million, down 6.3 percent year over year.

Hollywood Casino reported the largest increase of 8.2 percent year-on-year, with $7.5 million in revenue, and Rocky Gap Casino was sixth place with $4.6 million, down 10.3 percent.

June’s figures yielded $69.8 million in state contributions, up 0.6 percent year-on-year, while the Education Trust Fund saw a slight 0.1 percent decrease, with contributions totaling $50.4 million.

The MLGCA is responsible for regulating slots and table games at the six land-based casino venues in the state. Maryland has yet to legalize online casinos, and it does not look likely that these will be coming to the Old Line State any time soon. A recent survey from Public Policy Polling showed little support for passing a ballot referendum legalizing igaming this November.
