Over the last century, some of the most prominent names in sports have resurrected their careers after returning from a well-documented suspension.

Following a refusal to join the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War, Muhammad Ali had his boxing license denied throughout the nation. Consequently, the legendary boxer did not enter the ring during a three-year span through Oct. 1970, a period that bridged his mid-20s.

Tom Brady also served a suspension in his prime for his role in the Deflategate scandal.

As with Ali, former New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner dealt with a multi-year suspension after making illegal campaign contributions to Richard Nixon.
