

June Sees Nevada Hit New Records
The Nevada Gaming Control Board’s latest report showed an historic high of $15.8 billion in statewide gaming win, surpassing all previous benchmarks.
Nevada’s gaming collectively generated $1.28 billion in gaming win during June, reflecting a 3.3% year-over-year increase compared to the same period in 2023. This extended the state’s streak of surpassing the $1 billion gaming win threshold for 40 consecutive months.
The iconic Las Vegas Strip played a pivotal role in driving Nevada’s gaming success, contributing $9.1 billion to the state’s overall gaming win. This figure represents a 6.1% increase, or $519.8 million, compared to the previous fiscal year. the Strip’s gaming win for fiscal year 2024 set an all-time record, with the previous high of $8.5 billion achieved in the preceding year. The Strip’s contribution of 57.4% to the total statewide gaming win, up from 56.5% in the previous year.
According to Michael Lawton, the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s senior economic analyst, the record gains were primarily driven by increased volume rather than significant fluctuations in casino hold percentages. While hold percentages remained relatively consistent across most gaming verticals, notable exceptions were observed in sports wagering and baccarat.
Statewide slot machine win experienced a 1.6% decline, despite a 1.3% increase in the amount wagered. This suggests a slight shift in player preferences or gaming habits, potentially influenced by the introduction of new gaming offerings or promotional strategies.
Excluding baccarat, statewide table game win saw a modest 0.2% increase. However, baccarat win surged by 37.9%, accompanied by a 12.1% rise in the amount wagered (drop). The hold percentage for baccarat climbed to 18.35%, an increase from the 14.91% recorded in the previous year.
June proved to be a lucrative month for sportsbooks, with 212.7% year-over-year increase in win, with the hold percentage of 6.19%, an improvement over the 1.99% hold recorded in June 2023.
