OpenAI發布新版GPT-4o模型GPT-4o-2024-08-06，強調改進開發速度與效能、價格也更便宜
新版模型似乎也某程度部署到免費版ChatGPT上。但是不確定效能是否和付費版一樣好；雖然有人認為其程式撰寫及創作能力更佳，但也有多名用戶抱怨GPT-4o理解問題能力不足，回答也錯誤百出。
OpenAI選擇低調公布這次更新，原因可能和近日高層人事大地震有關。繼5月間共同創辦人之一的Ilya Sutskever及AI倫理主持人Jan Leike離去後，本周另一名共同創辦人John Schulman跳槽競爭對手Anthropic，而曾和執行長Sam Altman共進退的技術長Greg Brockman也請休長假，可能是離職前兆。
