Wyoming online sports betting revenue hits $1.5 million in July

The Wyoming Gaming Commission has reported that the state’s online sportsbooks handled $9.7 million in July, a more than 19 percent increase year-over-year. Revenue was $1.5 million, a jump of more than 39 percent month-over-month and a more than 50 percent increase year-over-year.

DraftKings Sportsbook was the biggest contributor to the betting handle and revenues in July, handling $5.2 million and producing revenues of $865,345. The sportsbook accounted for more than 53 percent of the month’s betting handle.

The next leading contributor was FanDuel Sportsbook, with a handle of $2.5 million and revenues of $373,351. Meanwhile, BetMGM brought in revenues of $194,792 and Caesars collected $38,646. Fanatics Sportsbook, the newest entrant to the Wyoming sports betting market, brought in $31,277.

The improved online sports betting performance comes as lawmakers have been looking to grow the gambling industry. Four representatives introduced HB 120 in February to legalize online casino gambling. Representative Tom Walters was the main advocate behind Wyoming’s successful 2021 campaign to legalize online sports betting and fantasy sports.
