最近微軟在說明Windows中的各種配置工具時，表示正在棄用控制臺（Control Panel），並轉向設定（Settings）程式

Windows中的系統配置工具除了控制臺與設定程式之外，還包括用來察看應用程式及系統負載的工作管理員（Task Manager），用來管理磁碟、裝置、服務、共享資料夾及使用者的電腦管理控制臺（Computer Management Console），以及查看系統、安全及應用程式事件的事件檢視器（Event Viewer），再加上系統配置，系統資訊，註冊表編輯器，本地群組政策編輯器，以及進階系統設定等。
