Colorado celebrates one year of its responsible gambling self-exclusion list

The Colorado Division of Gaming has reported that 288 people have signed up to its Self-Exclusion Program as the program approaches its first anniversary,

“We are encouraged by the positive response to the Self-Exclusion Program in its first year,” CDG Director Chris Schroder said in a press release. “The fact that 288 Coloradans have signed up demonstrates the importance of offering resources for those who seek to manage their gaming habits.”

The program, part of the state’s broader efforts to foster a safe gaming environment, enables individuals to voluntarily exclude themselves from gambling activities regulated by the CDG and the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission. Participants can opt to exclude themselves for one year, five years or permanently. The service is free, confidential and available to all residents.

“As the program enters its second year, the Division of Gaming remains committed to expanding its reach and impact,” the press release said.

Almost a week into Responsible Gaming Education Month, several other organizations have made an effort to commemorate the initiative. FanDuel recently announced a partnership with former NBA player Randy Livingston to launch a responsible gambling program. BetMGM and MGM Resorts International are again featuring GameSense responsible gaming messaging in NFL stadiums on game days.
