New data from the Wyoming Gaming Commission shows that the state’s sports betting saw an increase in revenue compared to July while revenues from amusement games dropped slightly.

In August, the five licensed online sportsbooks in Wyoming generated $1.59 million in gross gaming revenue, marking an increase of around 6 percent from the $1.5 million collected in July. Handle was $12.2 million, a month-on-month increase of more than 25 percent compared to the $9.72 million in July.

DraftKings contributed the most to the handle, with $6.57 million. FanDuel reported a handle of $3.16 million, while BetMGM followed with $1.77 million. Fanatics collected more than $460,000 in bets during the month, and Caesars contributed more than $240,000.

Wyoming college sports betting has no restrictions on player prop wagers after lawmakers delayed making a decision on an NCAA-advised ban this year. Online sports betting numbers seem to be benefiting from this decision, with the NCAA football season starting in August.

While the state reported growth in the sports betting sector, there was a slight drop in amusement game revenues. In August, games collected around $9.9 million in revenues, a drop of 0.5 percent from $9.94 million in July.
