外媒日前报道指Google开始严肃处理某些商户出现虚假评论的情况，将会推出全新警告功能，提醒用户该商家的列表最近被删除了虚假评论。不少人都会利用Google地图内的评论去了解一家商户，但有些商户会购买好评去提升自身形象，或通过虚假的差评去抹黑和打击竞争对手。
上述状况已经存在一段时间，Google最近开始着手处理。网站Search Engine Roundtable日前报道，指Google地图先前在英国开始实施警告功能，现在进一步于美国推出，系统会向用户发出提示，浏览中的商户列表有一个或多个虚假评论被移除。当该警告出现后，商户列表也会同时加入某些限制，例如商户在一段时间内无法再收到新的评论。
此外，Google地图也可能会暂时停止公开现有的评论和评分，直到调查完成为止。相关措施已经列入Google的商户数据政策中，意味着这是一项长期执行的措施。跟绝大部分的Google服务和新功能一样，Google地图打击商户虚假评论的措施将会逐步推行，香港用户稍后也有可能会见到类似警告。
