New data from the Missouri Gaming Commission has revealed that the state’s 13 riverboat casinos combined for $150.0 million in Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) in September 2024, marking a 5.4 percent decline from the $158.6 million generated in September 2023. Revenue also fell 8.2 percent month-on-month from August’s $163.4 million.

Ameristar Casino led with $23.6 million in revenue in September. River City Casino came in second with $20.4 million, followed closely by Hollywood Casino, collecting $20.3 million. Five other casinos reported revenues exceeding $10 million, including Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City, Harrah’s Kansas City, Argosy Casino & Hotel, Bally’s Kansas City, and Horseshoe St. Louis.

Despite ranking 1oth of the 13 venues, Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau was the only operator to report a year-over-year revenue increase. The casino saw a 13 percent rise at $5.9 million compared to $5.2 million in September 2023. Meanwhile, Horseshoe St. Louis reported the steepest decline of 22 percent.

Missouri’s casinos pay a 21 percent tax on their AGR, with 90 percent allocated to the State of Missouri Gaming Proceeds for Education Fund and 10 percent to the home dock city or country where each casino is located. September’s revenue resulted in $31.5 million in state contributions, including $28.4 million for education and almost $3.2 million to local governments.
