Nebraska governor approves Casey Ricketts to lead racing and gaming commission

Gov. Jim Pillen Wednesday approved the selection of Casey Ricketts to lead the agency that regulates casino gambling and horse racing in the state.

Ricketts, one of four finalists for the executive director job, had been serving as interim director of the agency.

Members of the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission voted unanimously last week to submit her name to the governor for consideration.

According to a press release from the governor’s office, Ricketts will receive an annual salary of $135,000.
