Louisiana: Live! Casino & Hotel to display works of artists

The Cordish Companies, in a collaboration with the Shreveport and Bossier City Arts Councils, has selected twelve artists to create original artwork to be displayed inside the new $270 million Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana.

The casino is scheduled to open in Bossier City’s East Bank Cultural District in the first quarter of 2025.

The artists were selected following an open call across Northwest Louisiana. A panel of judges, including representatives from Live! Casino, artists, and art professionals, evaluated numerous submissions to determine the final selections.

“We were truly inspired by the talent and vision of these local artists,” said Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana General Manager John Chaszar in a statement. “Partnering with the Bossier and Shreveport Arts Councils has allowed us to bring the spirit of the community into our space, spotlight local talent, and infuse our venue with Louisiana’s distinctive cultural flair. The creativity of these artists perfectly captures the essence of Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana.” Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana is set.”

Artists from Bossier, Caddo, Webster, Claiborne, Bienville, DeSoto, Red River, Sabine, and Natchitoches parishes submitted original designs for the contest. The winning pieces will be displayed in the pre-function area of the 25,000-square-foot Event Center, a live entertainment venue also used for corporate events and community gatherings.

“I cannot begin to express the amount of gratitude I have for being chosen as a finalist to display my own rendition of the Louisiana culture that is deeply embedded into the swamps and nightlife in our area,” said artist Jenn Ryland. “As a lifelong native of Northwest Louisiana, I am beyond honored to be a part of this local art recognition in our very own Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana.”

The winning artists are:

“Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana is set to be a vibrant hub of energy and creativity, attracting people from all walks of life,” said artist Karin Ebbesson; “To have my artwork grace its walls allows me the opportunity to connect with an audience in a space that is both exciting and welcoming. I am deeply honored to contribute to an environment that celebrates the human experience, where guests can engage with not just their surroundings but with the creative expressions that make these moments truly memorable.”
