Louisiana: October gaming revenue up across the board

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board posted revenue of $180.6 million from all forms of gaming in October, a year-over-year increase of 3.5%.

Gaming revenue rose in every district in Louisiana except Shreveport/Bossier City, which experienced a 9.7% decrease. Online sports revenue betting was $42.3 million, up 6% year over year, with a handle of $368 million, up 33% year over year.

Properties in the Lake Charles district reported revenue of $64.0 million, a 1.0% increase year-over-year. Golden Nugget Lake Charles led the district with $23.9 million in revenue, an increase of 1.2% compared to the same month in 2023. L’Auberge Casino Resort posted revenue of $22.6 million, up 1.6% year-over-year. Delta Downs’ revenue of $12.1 million was a 10.5% increase year-over-year.

The New Orleans district generated revenue of $49.1 million, a healthy increase of 23.2%. Harrah’s New Orleans generated revenue of $22.2 million, an increase of 12.9% compared to October 2023. Treasure Chest Casino posted revenue of $11.4 million, up 80.9% year-over-year, and Boomtown Casino & Hotel reported revenue of $9.6 million, an increase of 11.4%.

Shreveport/Bossier City district properties generated revenue of $40.5 million, reflecting a 9.7% loss compared to October 2023. Margaritaville Resort Casino came in at 14.8 million, a year-over-year increase of 2.6%. Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel posted revenue of $8.6 million, a year-over-year increase of 6.4%. Horseshoe Bossier City experienced a 43.7% decrease compared to the same time period in 2023, resulting in revenue of $7.5 million.

The Baton Rouge district had a year-over-year jump of 2.6%, with revenue of $21.1 million. L’Auberge Casino Hotel led the district with $13.6 million, up 2.6% year-over-year. The Queen of Baton Rouge generated $7.2 million, an increase of 13.3% compared to October 2023, and the Belle of Baton Rouge reported revenue of $0.3 million, a decrease of 59.2 % year-over-year.

Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in St. Landry Parish generated revenue of $5.9 million, equaling October 2023’s total.
