The Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) has granted Bet365 the necessary license to operate within the state, the license allows the bookmaker to establish a foothold in one of America’s most populous states. Bet365’s entry into the Illinois market is an alliance with Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort. This partnership will see the two entities collaborating to launch both a retail sportsbook at the casino premises and an online betting platform accessible throughout the state. However the commencement of operations remains contingent upon fulfilling additional regulatory requirements and securing final approvals from the relevant authorities.

While the license approval represents a significant stride forward, Bet365 and Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort must navigate a series of regulatory checkpoints before they can officially open their doors to Illinois punters, with Bet365’s approval, Illinois now boasts a roster of 15 licensed sportsbooks.
