Nevada Gaming Revenue Experiences 4.2% Decline in November

Nevada’s casinos collectively generated £1.31 billion in gaming revenue for November, representing a 4.2% decrease compared to the same month in the previous year. This figure, while still substantial, indicates a softening in the market, industry experts believe.

Game-specific Performance

One of the primary reasons for the year-over-year decline is the exceptionally strong performance recorded in November, that month saw the third-highest gaming win in Nevada’s history, setting a high bar for comparison.

The Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, while still a significant draw, did not match the attendance or revenue generation of its inaugural event in 2023. This difference in scale and novelty factor contributed to lower visitation numbers and reduced hotel room rates.

Despite the drop in gaming win, the state collected £87.2 million in gaming taxes for December, representing a 1.5% increase from the previous year.

With just one month remaining in the calendar year, the Las Vegas Strip’s gaming win is trailing 2023’s pace by 0.8%. This narrow margin suggests that a strong December could potentially close the gap.
