On Wednesday, August 27, the GAT CDMX Academy will mark the opening of the official program of GAT Expo at the Expo Santa Fe Convention Center, establishing an essential reference point for analysis and knowledge exchange in the gaming industry in Mexico and the region.

 

The protocolary installation of the academic sessions will feature the participation of renowned figures such as Fadlala Akabani, representing the Mexico City Government; Marco Emilio Hincapié, President of Coljuegos, Colombia; Miguel Ángel Ochoa and Óscar Paredes Arroyo, directors of AIEJA; Felipe Vallejo, CEO of Bitso Mexico and representative of the Fintech Mexico Association; alongside José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of Gaming & Technology Expo.

 

Conferences and Panels on Key Topics

 

The academic sessions will bring together, in addition to the aforementioned personalities, lawyers and specialized consultants with extensive experience in the Mexican regulated gaming sector, as well as leading executives from supplier and operator companies in Mexico and from the global industry with strong presence in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The topics to be addressed between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (GMT-6) include:

 

· Present and Future of the Mexican Gaming Market – moderated by Karen Sierra Hughes, Vice President of GLI Latin America, Caribbean & Spain, with panelists Alfredo Lazcano (Lazcano Sámano S.C.) and David Sides (CEO, Logrand Entertainment Group).

 

· Update on the Mexican Gaming and Raffles Law – moderated by Rosa Ochoa (Director SCCG Management LATAM), with Óscar Paredes Arroyo (President, AIEJA Board of Directors) and Carlos Portilla (PR&A).

 

· Importation of Gaming Machines: Challenges in Distribution and Commercialization in Mexico – moderated by José Luis Álvarez (PR&A), with Iraid Rosales (Country Manager, Amusnet Mexico), Enrique Manjarrez (Novomatic Mexico), Luis Casamayor (CEO FBM Mexico), Alonso Ramírez (Lawyer Consulting), and Gerardo de la Torre (Customs Advisor).

 

· Affiliate Marketing: How to Succeed in 2026 – keynote by Joaquín Gago, CEO of Betandeal.

· Corporate Structure of the Gaming Industry – with Alex Herrera (Commercial Director, KLU), Alan Parra (Director, AIEJA Online), Alberto Djemal (CEO, Klu Tech), and Fabián Ferrari (former CEO, Getnet Santander).

 

· OKRs Applied to the Gaming Industry – keynote by Daniel Arias, Director Amusnet Colombia, Central America & Caribbean.

 

· Presentation of the Latin American Gaming Associations Summit – which will close the day, moderated by Evert Montero (President of FECOLJUEGOS), scheduled for Thursday, August 28. This Summit will bring together association leaders such as Miguel Ángel Ochoa (President AIEJA, Mexico), Lorena Rojas (President APOJA, Paraguay), Fernando Calderón (President SONAJA, Peru), Elizabeth Maya (President CORNAZAR, Colombia), Javier Milián (President CIBELAE), and David Moniz (President ADCJ, Dominican Republic). The session aims to consolidate a regional cooperation agenda for the sustainable development of the industry.

 

The academic day will conclude at 3:00 p.m., followed by the AIEJA General Assembly at 5:00 p.m.
