據《路透社》的報導，Alphabet Inc.表示，如果用戶滿2年未使用或登錄Google帳號，那該帳號將遭到刪除，這意味著Google Workspace、Google Docs、Google雲端硬碟、Google Meet、YouTube和Google相簿等使用紀錄都將消失且無法使用。
但Alphabet Inc.也補充，此政策僅適用於個人帳號，不會影響學校或企業等單位的帳號。
此外，該政策雖然於16日生效，但不會立即影響擁有非活躍帳號的用戶，Alphabet Inc.表示最早將在2023年12月開始刪除帳號。而且從16日開始，Google將在12月前定期向非活躍帳戶的電子郵件發送提醒通知。
