The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) celebrated its 40th anniversary on Tuesday in Manila. At the same time, it unveiled a new logo, which represents the agency’s “re-energized role as the main gaming regulator in the Philippines”. The ceremony was attended by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who urged PAGCOR to “reshape the gaming landscape”.

In the ceremony, Marcos, Jr. called on the agency to sustain its crackdown on illicit activities and to render service that would leave a mark not just on the gaming industry but on society as a whole. At the same time, the president also urged the gaming regulator to be a “catalyst for even greater achievement in the years ahead.”

“Let this anniversary therefore be a call to the future, a future where PAGCOR is at the front and center in reshaping the gaming landscape with responsible practices, unwavering integrity, and a steadfast commitment to combating illicit activities,” the president said.

Speaking during the 40th-anniversary celebration, the Philippine president also highlighted PAGCOR‘s successful role as one of the government’s “biggest revenue generator” and a “reliable partner” in promoting various endeavors that benefit the Filipino people.

PAGCOR commemorated its four decades of existence by featuring its accomplishments, particularly its contributions to nation-building. The agency was created in 1983 by Presidential Decree 1869, also known as the PAGCOR Charter, issued by then-President Ferdinand Marcos.

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco remarked that for 40 years, the agency’s recorded total Contributions to Nation Building (CNB) amounted to around PHP607 billion ($11 billion), while its total dividend remittances since 2011 now total PHP64 billion ($1.16 billion). This brings PAGCOR‘s actual total contributions to PHP671 billion ($12.2 billion).

During the event, the group also unveiled its new logo.

“The new PAGCOR logo incorporates the element of fire associated with energy, inspiration, passion, and transformation. It symbolizes the flame that ignites change and drives progress. The logo likewise reflects a beacon that symbolizes guidance, leadership, and direction. It represents a guiding light that helps people find their way,” Tengco added.

“All these taken together, our new logo reflects PAGCOR‘s long-standing commitment of being a guiding force that illuminates the way forward, drives transformation and development, and brings inspiration and motivation to the lives it touches,” Chairman Tengco furthered.
