Oneida Indian Nation to renovate Turning Stone Resort Casino in New York

Oneida Indian Nation will break ground on the $370m project in 2024.

US.- The Oneida Indian Nation has announced details of a $370m capital investment for the largest renovation of New York’s Turning Stone Resort Casino in two decades. It will add a new conference centre, outdoor event spaces and a hotel.

The Nation will work with architecture and design firm Gensler and will break ground on the two-year project early next year. It says the Turning Stone project will generate a $616m one-time economic impact, create 3,600 one-time jobs and generate $22.1m in state and local tax revenues.

The resort will add a 77,000-square-foot conference centre that will double its existing conference space with new indoor and outdoor event spaces. It will include two new ballrooms, including a 30,000-square-foot grand ballroom with a terrace. It will also feature an outdoor courtyard with three new event spaces and a new indoor parking garage with 2,000 parking spaces.

The project will also feature a new hotel with 258 rooms, including 23 one- and two-bedroom suites, VIP lounge and Salt Seafood & Raw Bar. Meanwhile, on October 1, Oneida Nation Enterprises will become Turning Stone Enterprises.

In December 2023, The Lounge with Caesars Sportsbook will move to Turning Stone’s Exit 33, NY Rec & Social Club. The new space will include more than 60 high-definition screens and entertainment options that include pool, foosball, shuffleboard, and arcade games. It will also feature an outdoor patio with fire pits, comfortable seating, and blackjack.

The resort will also feature a 5,000-square-foot onsite medical centre, a golf practice area with a driving range and short game area and more than 120 electric vehicle chargers.

Ray Halbritter, Oneida Indian Nation representative and Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO: “The Turning Stone Evolution is much more than just an expansion. It is nothing less than a full evolution of the region’s premier destination and its role as an economic leader. Together with our existing facilities and partnerships, the new conference center will make Turning Stone and Central New York an even more desirable destination for larger and more prestigious events.”
