Fox Bet will be closed in the next month or so as reported by Reuters and Bloomberg late last week. The partnership between Fox and the Stars Group in 2019 became that with Flutter and the company acquired the poker giant.

The platform that never really succeeded even in the early formation and with Flutter already having a strong brand already with FanDuel Fox Bet had no real chance of success.

Now it seems the giant news company run by Rupert Murdoch have given up on Fox Bet but will retain the brand while Flutter holds on to the customer database and marketing opportunities for this.

Fox in return will be given the option to acquire 18.6% of the more successful FanDuel owned by Flutter, however the price of those shares is still unclear as back in 2021 Fox took Flutter to court over it said was an agreed price of those shares, to which Flutter disagreed, that decision is still ongoing.

Although an official announcement has not been made Bloomberg says it could be made as soon as Monday 31st July.
