据柬媒消息，8月17日，柬埔寨国家警察总署总监涅沙文下令让肃毒局警方与刑事总局、监狱总局以及全国各省市警方合作，尤其是和边境省份的警方，展开调查工作缉捕一名在诊所就诊期间，被蒙面武装匪徒劫走的中国籍囚犯。
柬埔寨肃毒局局长肯沙蓝透露，正在逃跑的中国籍贩毒头目，是于2009年被警方逮捕，然后被金边市法院判刑并监禁在白梳监狱，后来被转移到暹粒省监狱。
应提的是，8月17日上午，5个人为一伙的武装匪徒持消音手枪闯入暹粒市一家牙科诊所，并劫走了一名正在由4名狱警看守的中国籍囚犯。中国籍囚犯为陈某（音译），45岁，因为毒品案件被判处52年有期徒刑。
