The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported the monthly July figures for the gambling industry showing casino revenues at a record breaking $1.4 billion for the licensed 439 casinos in the state, representing a6.7% rise from the same month last year.

The Strip casinos made the most of that with $834.9 million and in total Clark County casino drawing in $1.2 billion.

Michael Lawton, senior economic analyst for the Gaming Control Board  said on the numbers: “The Reader’s Digest version of what drove this month’s record win amounts is slot win, which although wasn’t an all-time record, it was the third-highest total all time for the state and the second-highest total for the Strip.”

He went on to say, “Then, of course, the baccarat figures are incredibly strong albeit due to extremely elevated hold,” concluding he said. “Those baccarat totals led to the second highest game and table win totals all-time for the state and the Strip. When you put it all together, a new all-time record for the state and the Strip was established in July 2023.”

The state collected a bumper figure in taxes totalling $95.8 million for the month that represents a 5.9% rise compared to last year.

For the seven months now into the year Nevada is now up 4.1% in win figures compared to the same period in 2022.
