根据报告，39岁的Lordgrin Figueroa中士和20岁的Nelson目前已被警方拘留，并将面临非法拘禁、抢劫勒索、违反选举禁枪令、伪造公共文书、非法使用菲国警制服等指控。
9月3日晚间，嫌犯在帕赛市(Pasay)“带走”中国公民，声称其涉及人口贩卖案件。随后，该中国女子的友人寻求警方的协助，并提供了受害者戴手铐的照片、PMSG John Reggie Reyes 的菲国警证件照以及索要50披索赎金的短信。
当局最终在该市某旅馆内就出受害者，并逮捕两名嫌犯。
马里亚诺表示：“作为菲国警的成员，我们致力于维护法律并确保所有公民和游客的安全。我们不会容忍我们的成员有任何形式的不当行为或滥用职权。我们将继续迅速采取行动打击队伍中任何从事犯罪活动的个人。我们的许多警察人员仍然是优秀的公务员，他们渴望在职责范围之外协助和服务菲律宾同胞。”
