The start of the NFL season is upon us and a recent survey by the American Gaming Association (AGA) believes that 73.5 million Americans will place a bet of some sort on the upcoming season.

That is a huge 58% increase compared to last year’s prediction on all legalised sports betting on the NFL, but of course that is down to more states passing legislation allowing for the activity.

The AGA announced the findings on social media showing that it expects 28% of all American adults to place a bet or bets on the NFL that equates to 73.5 million of the population. In 2022 the AGA survey showed that the same response would see 18% of all adults placing a bet.

There is also a significant increase in online betting with 14% of all Americans saying they will bet on the NFL will do so online, while 5% will place their bet in person. The AGA believe from the survey that in all 37% of all NFL fans will take a gamble on their favourite team in one form or another during the season

With more and more states legalising sports betting, Kentucky kicks off their sports betting today the numbers for next year will only grow again.
