不少人在朋友聚会或旅行后都喜欢将照片和短片集成成专题视频，自己留为纪念或与亲友分享。现在通过Google Photos的Create Movie功能，程序就有8款默认的主题供用户选择，相对而言欠缺弹性，不过情况很快就会有所改善，因为Google Photos推出新的Highlight Video主题视频制作工具。
全新Highlight Video工具是Google Photos引进人工智能后的成果，用户只需搜索要加入视频的人物、时间、地点和活动，程序就会应对需求从数据库中找出合适的照片和短片和选择背景音乐，最后生成出主题视频，而视频内容更会与音乐同步。至于视频的显示比例，则根据选取的内容大多数为纵向或横向。
Highlight Video工具需要一些时间才能完成视频生成程序，之后会让用户作最后的编辑，包括重新排序、剪辑长短或调整音乐。要使用Highlight Video工具，用户只要点击主画面右上角的“+”即可，工具已经在Android和iOS版本程序推出，稍后会陆续向全球用户提供。
